Group Worship

Find a community of like minded peeps who come together and worship. The right church can help you get in touch with God and Spirit.

Appreciation Practice

Find and focus on the things in this life that bring you joy. Consciously appreciate or express gratitude for the beautiful sky or a perfect smile. Consistent appreciation drives a shift in vibration and the way we connect to the whole.

Silent Meditation

Silence a Spiritual Practice MainstaySit in silence for 10 30 minutes. Ellen Tadd suggests that silence is key to connect to spirit. In quiet we open to guidance from something greater than ourselves.

Guided Meditation

Meditation vacation, because it is a nice no pressure way to engage with the practice. Find someone whose voice you like, and topic you need. Go to a class or get a CD. When you are ready guided meditation is a good way to dive into a specific area like fear, or peace in daily life,   Guided meditation can focus your growth work.

Reiki

Reiki is a healing spiritual practice. (Click the link to get some more specific information on Reiki.) Go to a Reiki master and get some work done, or study and develop a self practice or both. Reiki is most effective as a daily or life integrated practice.

Prayer,  Mantra & Affirmations

Prayer has been shown to reduce anxiety and promote healing.   A prayer can be personal or part of a formal religious training. I grew up saying the rosary and loved to let my mind relax into the routine of the words.

Cate Stillman  says mantra is a great way to retrain the brain. Change the path you are on by overwriting destructive patterns. Mantra focuses and calms the mind. Mantra and affirmations are quick, simple and powerful.

affirmationsSilently repeat, Namaha, which means I bow or surrender or Shanti, which means Peace or just say Peace quietly to yourself.  You can say it 3 times when you think of it, or once a day for a few minutes. I use mantra as a go to way to stop negative self talk. I am well I am strong I am healthy, is an affirmation I say every day.

Conscious Breath (Click the link to see a few basic breaths.)

Slow deep breaths relax the body and the mind. In yoga and ayurveda this is called pranayama. There are different breath patterns that designed to help specific conditions.

Any or all of these will connect you to your own spiritual nature and add value to your life. This value is amplified when you identify a way to regularly connect to spirit and to make it part of each and every day. You may start simply with a more regular sense of appreciation for the gifts of this life. From there the sky is the limit…..
