Recently I went down to Cape Cod to visit some friends, went out for a nature walk and found joy. I have been in a funk for the past few weeks since a friend of mine died and I didn’t own it. Though I thought I had processed her death, it still weighed on me. I came home tired but tremendously refreshed and feeling a perspective shift for healing my heart.
A funk or down period is not beneficial for my Lyme healing journey. It can set me back and increase my pain. I know that, try to stay positive and act in integrity with what I know bolsters my health.
It is funny before I left, I knew I needed a shift, but I didn’t know what or how. So I just went, hoping to craft a shift for healing. I let go of my routine working, cooking, friends, cats, and self-care and spent some time with a view of the sky, the sound of the waves and the smell of the sea. It was transformative and erased the sense of discouragement that I didn’t even know was there.
Sometimes you need to know there is a problem before you can address it, but often the right kind of action can shine a light on issues lurking below awareness. So this trip, short and sweet was the perspective shift for healing I needed.
It was a perfect day cool, breezy, and bright, no flies or mosquitoes. We walked on a trail by the ocean for an hour. You can be sure we did tick checks after our walk. The simple action of getting out in nature positively shifted my awareness.
Perspective Shift For Healing
How you spend your time, what you are listening to, looking at, smelling, tasting and seeing is critical for rebuilding health. Check in with yourself. What are you doing and how are you feeling? Physically, emotionally are you acting in integrity with healing? Do you need professional help and support from your team or do you need to take action on your own to shift for your next level of healing?
Noticing an issue then taking affirmative action can move you into your next level of healing. I recently talked with a friend with Lyme disease who was in a low energy place. Feeling awful she reached out to me to check in and for some advice. It can help to have a sounding board to get perspective.
Self Support For Advancement
Self Support for advancement is very personal. But when you take action on your behalf, you make a statement to the universe. Choose the type of change and shift that will best support you on your healing journey. Simple things like listening in, fine-tuning your self- talk, and active self-care can help
Self Talk
Most of us have monkey chatter as a background in our mind. Start listening to the conversation going on in your head. Even write down a sentence or two. Read it out loud. Does it sound helpful? If the words are dark or defeatist, rewrite and upload quickly to change the pattern and energy. Change things up to shift your perspective. Express appreciation for how good you do feel then say you are doing the right things and moving to the next level of wellness. Here are some additional ideas to shift negative self-talk.
Self Care
Examine what you are doing each day to take care of yourself in crucial areas. Are you getting restorative rest, eating well, and detoxing regularly. Fatigue, lack of raw materials for repair, stagnation, and toxic build up all detract from your recovery journey.
Shift your perspective to appreciation, joy compassion and self-care. Shine a bright light on the journey to heal. Tune in with awareness and take the time to prioritize your healing.
