Ayurveda, Health & Self Care
The sister science of Yoga, Ayurveda defines health pretty specifically. “Balanced dosha, agni, tissues, elimination of waste, and well working senses, systems, joy and happiness.” Translation: the (dosha) forces or energies acting in the body are in balance with your nature for instance if you are fiery you are a healthy fiery not ripping everyone’s head off.
You can consistently digest and use what you bring into your body. All your muscles, nerves, bones and blood are strong. No constipation nor diarrhea. You are not bloated and have good fluid and electrolyte balance Finally you have circumstance and space to be generally happy. Ayurveda teaches how to build health and balance into daily activities and routines.
Self Care A Big Ask in Our World
Modern society has lost touch with health as a cornerstone of a complete life. As a result, life expectancy is going down and chronic illness is on the rise. The Washington Post reported on this shift from increasing to decreasing life expectancy and some of the causes. Cancer and Heart disease are high on the list. This is alarming, unnecessary and makes me mad. I want this and the next generation, to live long full healthy lives.
In order to support this I share healthful practices and how to build them into daily routines. Information is power on the health and habit front. We have to help each other. Communicate your understanding and the value of vibrant wellness. Let someone you love in on the habits you use to thrive. Be a living example, and share the tools to build health. Structure your habits to maintain it over the course of a well lived life.
Daily habits are the easiest way to sustain success
Because of the way our brain works. Habits have a lot of power to build wellness or erode health and make us susceptible to disease. Bring this awareness and the reality of daily health practice into your life and your family. Focus on these 4 areas to get started.
